Sustainable Resource Recovery: Bridging the Gap
Mining has existed for thousands of years in one form or another. Considering our insatiable appetite for metal, mining will continue to be necessary to obtain the resources that allow newtechnologies to thrive.
Therefore, it is imperative that mining practices are established which put the environment first. Historically, this hasn’t been done well, as is proven by the acid contamination from sulphide tailings or breaches of tailings dams that destroy local ecosystems.
We think of ourselves as the only company in the world to actively pursue projects where arsenic is a legacy issue from mining. Combining the ability to stabilize arsenic and recover the contained precious and/or base metals is a tremendous opportunity for both us, and the environment. Historic tailings deposited 50-100 years ago were created without the knowledge that we have gained over time. BacTech has the capability to address these past mistakes. Our goal? To create a new norm for the mining industry where the first priority is the health of our planet.
